Richard Allen Travis, 54, of Kingwood, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2024, at his residence with his family by his side. He was born on June 17, 1969, in Morgantown, son of Allen Gale and Bonnie Jean (Knotts) Travis of Tunnelton.
Richard graduated from Central Preston High School, Class of 1987. He retired from Preston County Senior Center and had worked at Hazlett Tree Service until 1998. Richard enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, WVU Mountaineers, and the Pittsburgh Pirates. He used to go to car shows with his old mustang. He previously attended Fellowsville Assembly of God and also loved going to church.
Richard is survived by his wife of 24 years, Angie Dawn (Plum) Travis; one son, Michael Allen Travis and Dominique of Morgantown; two grandchildren, Cole and Riley; two sisters, Diane Bolyard and June, Lisa Layton and Mark all of Tunnelton; two brothers-in-law, Johnny Plum, Jr., and Melissa of Newburg, Joey Plum of Fairmont; mother-in-law, Faith Jeanette Knotts Plum Taylor and husband John of Kingwood; one sister-in-law, Lisa Wagner and Tyler of Newburg; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and special friend, Delisa Riley; and caretaker, Jay Graham.
Richard was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and father-in-law, Johnny Allen Plum, Sr.
Family and friends will be received at Fellowsville Assembly of God, 3735 George Washington Hwy, Tunnelton, WV 26444, from noon on Saturday, Feb. 3, until time of service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Chris Baker officiating. Interment will follow at the Pratt Cemetery.
