In memory of Graciela Rodríguez de Ayala, a devoted wife and mother who passed away on Dec. 23, 2023, in her primary house in Colombia, South America.
She came to call West Virginia her second home when she moved to Morgantown in 2001.
She dedicated her life to creating a warm and loving home for her family. Her unwavering support, kindness, and caring spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. May the memory of her be a source of comfort and strength during this difficult time.
Graciela loved gardening, planting flowers, knitting, sewing, dancing, cooking, listening to music, traveling and her favorite show was called Serenata Antioqueña.
She is survived by six children, Diego Fernando Ayala, Nhora Piedad Ayala, Víctor Hernán Ayala, Martha Cecilia Ayala, Gloria Inés Ayala and Alba Milena Ayala; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, María del Carmen Rodriguez; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lubin Ayala; a brother, Juan Bautista Rodriguez; and a sister, Marlene Rodriguez.
“I wish we could go back in time to see you again, to give you a hug and never let go.
But I understand that your time has come and that God has called you to be by his side,
but I never thought it would hurt so much.
I will miss you and carry you in my heart forever mom.” — Milena Ayala
