- SB 566, the Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementia Advisory Council to examine the needs of individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias, the services available in the state for those individuals and the ability of health care providers and facilities to meet the individuals’ current and future needs and to submit a report with recommendations and to require a State Alzheimer’s Plan.
- SB 567, to provide immunity from liability for hospitals that have established a hospital police department if a loss or claim results from the failure to provide police protection. Sen. Jay Taylor, R-Taylor, lead sponsor; Sen. Charles Clements, R-Wetzel, co-sponsor.
- SB 568, to change the focus from truancy and unexcused absences to a multi-tiered system of support and all absences, both excused and unexcused. Taylor, lead sponsor; Sens. Mike Oliverio, R-Monongalia, Randy Smith, R-Tucker, co-sponsors.
- SB 569, to allow municipalities to complete work previously requested to the Division of Highways, with a provision for payment. Taylor, sponsor.
- SB 573, to remove the restriction that prevents medical marijuana from being in edible form. Sen. Mike Caputo, D-Marion, co-sponsor.
- SB 575, Assisted Reproduction Act, to set forth provisions for genetic and gestational surrogacy.
- SR 17, recognizing Riley Gaines as an ambassador for the Independent Women’s Forum, and an advocate for women’s equality in sports.
- HB 5212, to require that new electric vehicle charging stations be universally accessible.
- HB 5216, to require county commissions to establish fire levies to fund volunteer fire departments and emergency medical services within those counties. Delegates Phil Mallow and Mike DeVault, R-Marion, Joe Statler, R-Monongalia, co-sponsors.
- HB 5218, to cap insurance co-payments for certain services at $500 a year for insureds who are terminally ill until death. Delegate Geno Chiarelli, R-Monongalia, co-sponsor.
- HB 5221, to increase the minimum wage based upon increases in the consumer price index. Delegate John Williams, D-Monongalia, sponsor.
- HB 5223, to create the Southern Coalfield Resiliency and Revitalization program to identify and prioritize existing resources that can be directed to support economic development efforts in the Boone, Logan, McDowell, Mingo, and Wyoming counties.
- HB 5243, the West Virginia Women’s Bill of Rights is to bring clarity, certainty, and uniformity to the laws of West Virginia regarding sex discrimination, equality of the sexes, and benefits or services specifically provided to males/men and to females/women. Delegate Debbie Warner, co-sponsor.
