Britta Kathryn Kiger, 75, of Westover, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2023, at Mon Health Medical Center.
Britta was born in East Brady, Pa., on July 27, 1948, the daughter of the late Keith and Bessie Mortimer.
In her free time Britta enjoyed horseback riding and socializing with friends at some of her favorite local places such as Gene’s and Mundy’s. Britta also enjoyed traveling, playing solitaire, and volunteering with meals on wheels.
Britta is survived by her significant other, Butch Neal; and four cousins, Joyce Zimmel, Cathy Cherry, Donna Rogers, and Karen Zdunich.
In addition to her parents, Britta is preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, John Kiger; and her sister, Mary Kay Mortimer.
Hastings Funeral Home will be in charge of cremation arrangements. Following cremation private inurnment will take place at Lawnwood Cemetery in Morgantown. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Britta’s name may be made to an Alzheimer’s research association of your choice.
