Mary Helen DeSantis, 92, of Masontown, passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023, at Windy Hill Village in Kingwood.
She was born in Vindex, Md., on March 12, 1931, a daughter of the late Charles Wayne, Sr. and Margaret Elizabeth (Shaw) Strahin.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She loved to go bowling, shopping and out to eat. Mary had worked at Mylan Pharmaceuticals and Sterling Faucet for many years.
She is survived by five children, Tina Naylor and husband Ken of Masontown, Linda Martin and husband Terry of Masontown, James DeSantis Jr. and wife Vicki of Points, and Robert DeSantis of Bruceton Mills, and David DeSantis and wife Becki of Morgantown; eight grandchildren, Brandi Naylor, Tommy Martin, Lisa Collins, Theresa Schirg, Debbie Butler, Autumn Crum, Marilyn DeSantis and Jamie DeSantis; ten great-grandchildren, Tiffani Maxwell, Josh Maxwell, Ethan Maxwell, Kaytlin Martin, RJ Schirg, Mackenzie Schirg, Wyatt Butler, Cole Schirg, Olivia Crum and Elizabeth Crum; one great-great-grandchild, Sophia; two brothers, Raymond Strahin of Reedsville, and Benjamin Strahin of Arthurdale; and one sister, Anna Strahin of Reedsville.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Lee DeSantis Sr. in December of 2000; two brothers, Charles Strahin Jr. and Richard Strahin; two sisters, Virginia Strahin and Patty Strahin; and two half-brothers, Cecil Strahin and William Strahin.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 4, with Pastor Sam Moon officiating. Interment will follow in the Masontown Cemetery.
