George Sadler, 71, of Morgantown, passed away on Oct. 25, 2023.
George was born Dec. 20, 1951, in New York, New York, the son of Elizabeth Hartmetz Sadler.
George grew up in Charlotte, N.C., graduating from South Mecklenburg High School in 1970, and then UNC-Charolette, earning a bachelor’s degree in business in 1974.
George married Rebecca Kartman Sadler on April 20, 2002, in an intimate family ceremony in Vienna, Va. They lived in Fairfax, Va., until 2014, when they relocated to Morgantown.
George spent the first years of his career in North Carolina, before relocating to the Washington D.C., area to focus on Technology Sales for the Federal Government. He earned Presidents Club honors for multiple, consecutive years, which he enjoyed bringing his children to on occasion. George retired prior to moving to Morgantown.
Above all else, George loved his family. He never had to state it, his actions showed that he was always dependable to be there for his own kids, and his stepchildren. He was at every activity, practice, game, camp-out, and recital. He opened his door to anyone, hosting a dozen exchange students, friends, and family throughout his life whenever they wanted or needed a place.
George was an avid member of the martial arts community. From Judo, Karate to Hapkido, he loved learning and perfecting his art.
Remaining to cherish George’s memory are his wife, Rebecca; children, Danielle (Sean) Strait, Justin (Amy) Sadler, Jeni (Kelly Samuelson) Sadler, Cindy (Dane) Officer, Alicia Ebeling, Brianna Cross; grandchildren, Owen Sadler, Kesley Strait, Saylor Strait, Jordan Staley, Wolfgang Ebeling, Dylan Officer, Noah Butler, Zain Cross, Spencer Bebout; brother, Eric (Jude) Sadler; nephew, Matthew (Lora) Sadler; bonus children, Kathleen (Jens) Reich, Mariano (Heike Werntgen) Skroce, Nina Mortiz, Christian Veoller.
Proceeding George in death was his mother, Elizabeth Sadler.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Cherry Grove Beach, S.C, at a later date.
