Joshua “Josh” Ryan Murray, 42, of Reedsville, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023, as a result of an automobile accident. He was born on April 24, 1981, in Morgantown, a son of Kathy Sue (Adkins) Murray and the late Donald Eugene Murray.
Josh was a 1999 graduate of Preston High School. He was employed at Murray Trucking as a mechanic and truck driver, alongside many of his dearest friends and mentors, and his beloved father, Donnie. After his father passed, Joshua took over operations of Murray Trucking.
Josh held many roles throughout his life. He was a devoted son, a cherished brother, a favorite uncle, a trusted friend, a class clown, and a math genius. Josh was an FFA Sentinel, FFA Vice President, FFA President, and a FFA national competitor. Josh was a guy who would give you the shirt off his back, if you were in need. He supported those he loved in moments of absolute joy, or absolute tragedy.
In addition to his mother, Joshua is survived by two sisters, Cheryl Dawn Murray and Kelly Lynn Murray (Nathaniel Bowers); two nephews, Graham Hudson Murray Bowers, and Theodore Henry Murray Bowers; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Josh was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Jack Murray, Mary Ellen Murray, Badie Adkins, Helen Adkins; and aunts and uncles, Truman and Waunita Fox, Ronald Murray and Wilma Murray.
Private services will be held at a later date.
