One dead in Core dirt bike accident

One person died Thursday afternoon in an accident the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office says involved a pickup truck and a dirt bike.

According to a press release from Sheriff Perry Palmer, deputies responded to an accident on Henderson Hollow Road in Core shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday. Mon EMS, Cassville Volunteer Fire Department and an accident reconstructionist also responded to the scene.

The accident remains under investigation, but according to the sheriff’s release, it is believed the driver of the dirt bike was traveling east on a single-lane, gravel road and the pickup truck was traveling west.
