Laura Lewis

Laura Dalton Lewis, 88, a beacon of love, passed away on Nov. 5, 2023, at the Mon Health Medical Center, Morgantown. She was born on Feb. 10, 1935, in Morgantown, daughter of Bob and Edith Dalton.

She worked at Sterling Faucet, Morgan Shirt Factory and retired after many years at Hall’s Classique Carpet.

She attended Mt. View Free Methodist Church as faith was a guiding force in her life.
She had a green thumb and found immense joy in flower gardening and maintaining her lawn. Her family, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren, were the loves of her life.

She is survived by her son, Gerald (Linda) Lewis of Reedsville; and daughter, Tammie (Steve) Tennant of Grafton; six grandchildren, Eric (Miranda) Lewis, Kevin Lewis, Kelsey (Jared) Marciano, Brody (Nicole) Lewis, Zach (Sydney) Tennant, and Lauren (Tyler) Lancaster; and great-grandchildren, Annalie and Connor Lewis, Atlas Lewis, Charlotte Lewis, Sully Marciano, Jackson Tennant.

Laura is also survived by her sister, Audrey (Sis) McMillen; and leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness in the hearts of her numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Darris Lewis; her brother, Raymond Dalton; and infant sister, Loretta Dalton.

Friends and family will gather at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8, and again on Thursday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11a.m. with Pastor Donna Dalton officiating. She will rest with her husband at the Nicholson Chapel Cemetery, Summers School Road.
