Tina Ruth Tichnell, 88, of Aurora, passed away on Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, at Dennett Road Manor, Oakland, Md.
She was born Sept. 25, 1935, in Rowlesburg, daughter of the late Clifford Howard and Alberta Ellen Hershman Sigley. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frederick “Fred” Grant Tichnell on June 1, 2008, whom she married on Sept. 18, 1954.
Tina was a homemaker, known for her baking, quilting and gardening. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Aux, Rowlesburg, Cannon Hill Post 3008; and Flag Chapel Church, Etam.
Tina is survived by her two sons, George “Joe” Tichnell and Barbara of Port Orange, Fla., Fred Tichnell and Jane of Aurora; five grandchildren, George Tichnell Jr., Lacey Tichnell, Melanie Tichnell, Waylon Kitzmiller, and Billie Wiltison; eight great-grandchildren, Cole Tichnell, Ethan Glotfelty, Haven Tichnell, Addyson Gore, Grayson Gore, Abby Kitzmiller, Izzy Kitzmiller and Riley Wiltison; one sister, Lucille Burns of Rowlesburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three grandsons, Jeffrey Tichnell, Joshua Tichnell and Jeremy Tichnell; one great-grandson, Carson Gore; siblings, Mary Goins, Audrey Cathell, Robert Sigley, Howard Sigley, Jerry Sigley, and Larry Sigley.
Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3, and on Saturday, Nov. 4, at Flag Chapel Church at 2269 Birch Root Rd., Rowlesburg, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Sabrina Tenny officiating. Interment will follow at Flag Chapel Cemetery.
