Betty Kiger

Betty Jo Harvey Lewellen Kiger, 88, of Morgantown, went to her eternal home on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023. at the J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Betty was born on Oct. 27, 1935, in Pursglove, a daughter of the late Garvey T. Harvey and Ruth “Boots” Moon Harvey.
Betty was a member of the Mount Morris Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God. She worked at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital several years before retiring. She enjoyed traveling and most of all spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Kirkendall; her grandson, Jeffrey Kirkendall; her sister, Nina Adams; her brothers, Duane and Butch Harvey; her first husband, Richard “Dick” Lewellen and second husband, William Kiger.
Surviving is her son, James “Jim” Lewellen and his companion Bonnie Evanoff; grandchildren, Jimmy Lewellen and fiance Jennifer, Amy Lewellen Pirrong and husband Nick, Ritchie Lewellen and wife Traysha, Josh Lewellen and wife Hillary; several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; her son-in-law, Jeffrey F. Kirkendall; several nieces and nephews; and her furry friend and bodyguard, Titan.
The family wishes to send a sincere thank you to WVU Hospice for all of their loving and compassionate care, as well as her close friends that helped with her care.
There will be visitation in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., 324 Mt. Morris Rd., P.O. Box 478, Mt. Morris, PA 15349 Shane M. Ayers, Director, from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1, and services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2, with Pastor Joseph Adams officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mt. Morris, Pa.
