Lydia Rich

Lydia Anna Rich, 95, of White House, Springhill Township, Pa., passed at her home on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023.

She was born in the Meason House, Mount Braddock, Pa., on May 24, 1928, the only daughter of the late Michael and Maria Difroscia Cellurale.

Mrs. Rich and her late husband Mike founded Rich Farms in 1949, and she continued to be involved with the business until her passing.

Mrs. Rich was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her infant daughter, Rita Joan Rich; her sons, Michael John Rich and Frank James Rich; and her brothers, Gennaro Francis Cellurale Sr. and Joseph Francis Cellurale Sr. Mrs. Rich was the last surviving member of her family’s generation.

Surviving Mrs. Rich are her children, Nita Marie Davis and husband Peter, JoAnn Marie Standish and husband Lawrence, Thomas Adams Rich and wife Beatrice, and Mark Anthony Rich; her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Rich; her thirteen grandchildren, Emily Rich, Alison Rich, Jeremy Rich, JoAnn Frey and husband Robert, Ashley Davis and partner Ryan, Lydia Davis, Sarah Standish and husband Matthew, Nicholas Standish, Mike Standish and wife Elizabeth, Natalie Standish, Cosimo Rich, Letizia Rich, and Anna Rich; her twelve great-grandchildren, Filamina, Elijah, Max, Samuel, Oliver, Peter, Louisa, Benjamin, Eleanor, Scott, Charles, and Penelope; mother of Anna, Carey Rich; and her many nieces, nephews, godchildren, and friends.

Family and friends will be received in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., from 2-6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4, in Saint Therese de Lisieux Church, 61 Mill Street, Uniontown, Pa., from 10:30 a.m.-noon. The Funeral Mass begins at noon.

Entombment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Rich’s name to the Amedisys Foundation, 3854 American Way, Suite A, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
