William Jefferson Jr.

William “Billy Jack” Luther Jefferson, Jr., 71, passed peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023, surrounded by loved ones at the Shenandoah Center in Charles Town.

Billy Jack was born on June 7, 1952, in Morgantown, son to the late William “Snookie” L. Jefferson Sr. and Norma Jean (Seals) Jefferson.

Billy Jack loved spending time with those closest to him. He was a loyal fan of the WVU Mountaineers and Pittsburgh Steelers. Also left to cherish his memory are his beloved brother, Bartley Jefferson, Scottsdale, Pa.; and adoring sister, Cynthia Proctor and her husband, Mitchell Proctor, Charles Town; and half-sister, Vera Younger, Morgantown; and long-time love of his heart, former wife, Sharon Boyers (Jefferson), Morgantown. Additional survivors include many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Along with his parents, Billy Jack is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Minerva Morgan; maternal grandparents, Jack and Mazie Seals; two infant siblings, Brenda Joyce and David Lee; his brother, Charles “Chuck” Jefferson and his wife, Tina Jefferson; and brother, Derrick Jefferson.
