Alex Lee Uphold, 22, passed away on Oct. 9, 2023, in Morgantown.
He was the son of David Uphold Jr. and Jeana McCardle.
Born on April 27, 2001, Alex was a loving father, son, brother, grandson and friend. He was a kind and compassionate person who always put others before himself. Alex had a passion for hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He especially enjoyed driving his kids around on 4-wheeler rides through the woods. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a hard worker and dedicated to his job in the gas and oil industry.
In addition to his parents, Alex is survived by his significant other Breanna Kittle, his daughter Ella Uphold and son Kayden Uphold; his siblings Daniel Henderson, Paisley Uphold, Mackenzie Uphold; and his grandparents James McCardle, Elaine McCardle and David Uphold.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Tina Allen Winfield.
A viewing and funeral service will be held to honor and remember Alex’s life at DeGarmo Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the DeGarmo Funeral Home, P.O. Box 488, Rivesville, WV 26588.
The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 2nd & Jasper St., Rivesville, on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Bill Toothman officiating. A committal service will follow at Arnettsville Cemetery.
