Edward Neil Eisentrout, 89, of Strasburg, Va., formerly of Morgantown, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2023, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born on Jan. 5, 1934, in Selbysport, Md., he was a son of the late John William and Martha Helen (Nedrow) Eisentrout. He also was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Marilynn Joyce (Ludwick) Eisentrout on Feb. 9, 2022; four sisters, Erma Eisentrout, Martha Friend, Emogene Fisher and Edna Sebold; and three brothers, Wendell, Clarence and Bill Eisentrout.
Mr. Eisentrout was a 1952 graduate of University High School in Morgantown, and served in the United States Army. He was retired as a research technician with the United States Department of Energy and was a life long member of the Church of the Brethren. He was very musically inclined and was a member of the Morgantown Men’s Choir for many years.
Surviving is his son, Wesley M. Eisentrout and wife Jill of Strasburg; two granddaughters, Stephanie Eisentrout and Jennifer Anderson; two great-grandchildren, Gohan and Thora Novak; a sister, Virginia Boone of Morgantown; and several nieces and nephews.
At. Mr. Eisentrout’s request, there will be no visitation.
A graveside service for family and friends will be conducted at the Arnold Cemetery in Junction, at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18,
Interment, with military honors, will follow.
