Jordan Liverman, owner of children’s clothing boutique Peri+Co, developed a taste for sewing when she became a stay-at-home mother in 2017. Previously a respiratory therapist, she turned to sewing as a creative outlet and began to produce chic clothing for her young ones. Liverman and her sewing machine made a good team, and soon, she was creating more pieces than her children could wear.
With supply outpacing demand, she decided to expand her market beyond her family. A Facebook page dedicated to her clothing line helped her find an eager new audience, and the equilibrium shifted — now she had more demand than supply.
In 2023, Liverman moved her company into a storefront at the Seneca Center. With a larger team on board and a loyal customer base hungry for more, Peri+Co was ready to take off.
The interior of the boutique has an upscale feel. The decor is light and airy, and the merchandise is curated and displayed in a way that creates a tranquil shopping experience. The colors used in the handmade clothing are more subtle than those found in mass-produced pieces and are reminiscent of the style of Tea Collection or Hanna Andersson clothing lines. The shop also stocks select accessories, gifts, toys and books.
Although the brick-and-mortar store is busy, Peri+Co still maintains an online shop
(shopperiandco.com).
Orders are typically ready in five or so days; shipping is free for orders over $50. Customers also have the option to pick up orders at the store. The website features a “Deal of the Day” section with select discounted items. Halloween-themed clothing is in stock now, and Christmas attire is available for preorder.
