HANCOCK, Md. — A fourth-quarter explosion lifted Clay-Battelle to their second win of the year, 38-26 on the road at Hancock (Md.).
The Cee-Bees scored 24 points in the final frame to improve to 2-3 on the season.
Maverick Gum led the team with 157 rushing yards and two touchdowns, his second straight game with over 100 yards and multiple scores.
Fullback Maddox Shriver supplied 69 infantry yards and a score of his own.
Quarterback JC Spears completed 12 of 17 passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns to Braden Ponceroff, who finished with four receptions for 82 yards. Spears also caught a pass, throw by Ponceroff, for 39 yards.
After leading 14-12 at halftime, Clay-Battelle trailed 20-14 heading into the fourth quarter before scoring 24 points to secure the win.
The Cee-Bees return home next week to host Meadowbridge.
