Wesley Blaine Marshall, 88, of Gladesville Road, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023, at Mon Health Medical Center. Wesley was born Nov. 11, 1934, in Morgantown, a son of the late James Clarence Marshall and Cynthia Mae Larrison Marshall.
Wesley was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. Following his military service, Wesley was employed at Nickels Bakery and Davis-Lynch Glass, before going to Humphrey No. 7 coal mine where he retired.
Wesley is survived by his son, James Wesley Marshall (Donna) of Philippi; daughter, Shelley Burnette of Morgantown; sisters, Shirley Smith and Marie Dee Whetsell, both of Morgantown; grandchildren, Tiffany White of Morgantown, Jacob Burnette of Morgantown, Nick Marshall of Philippi, Samantha Marshall (Mikey Alth) Philippi, Jama Roy (Zach) of Grafton, Zoe Marshall of Philippi; great-grandchildren, J.J. White of Morgantown, Montana Marshall, Madeline Marshall, Parker Marshall, Emmitt Marshall, Khloe Alth and Jase Alth; and several nieces and nephews, who lovingly referred to him as Uncle Buck.
In addition to his parents, Wesley was preceded by his wife, Glenda Joy Marshall; his son-in-law, Chris Burnette; brother, James Junior Marshall; and brother-in-law, Clarence Whetsell.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover, from 5-7 p.m. Thursday and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service with Rev. M. A. Donham officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery on the Grafton Road with military honors provided by the Westover VFW Post # 9916 and WVANG.
