Milburn “Wayne” Cline, 71, of Marquess (Sinclair Road) passed away on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2023, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 26, 1951, at Sinclair Road, son of the Lois Louise (Williams) Cline, Marquess, and the late Raymond Wesley Cline.
Wayne graduated from Fellowsville High School, Class of 1970. He served in the United States Army 1971-77 during the Vietnam War. Wayne worked for Lewis Wolfe Tractor Repair, Woody Toothman Tractor Sales, Fairmont, Jack Holleran Construction, Albert Shaffer Trucking as a mechanic, drove a tractor-trailer tanker for Chemical Leaman Tank Lines, and also had Wayne’s Farm Equipment Repair Service and the West Virginia Division of Highways in Preston County for 15 years, retiring in August 2013.
Wayne enjoyed farming, repairing farm equipment, fishing, hunting, making knives and sassafras hall trees, doing taxidermy and word search puzzles. He loved camping with Pam at Canaan Valley Campground. He was a member of West Virginia Farm Bureau.
Wayne was known for being a hard worker and helping anyone in need. In addition to his mother, Wayne is survived by his wife, Pamela “Pam” Joann (Trout) Cline, whom he married on Feb. 23, 2002; two stepchildren, Christopher “Nicholas” Smith and Laura, of Burlington, Ky., Amanda Nicole Donaldson and Burdett, Rivesville; six stepgrandchildren, Xavier, Isaac, Lillian, Madeleine, Dominic and Nicolett; five siblings, Linda Cox and Guy, Kingwood; Connie Cox and David, Fellowsville; Curtis Cline and Amanda, Marquess; Alice Street and Bob, Tunnelton; Jeffrey Cline, Marquess; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his father, Wayne was preceded in death by one sister, Carrol Roxanna Nine.
Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave., Newburg, on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023, from 2-7 p.m., and on Friday, Sept. 8, 2023, from 9 a.m. until time of service at
11 a.m. with the Rev. Ray Frankhouser officiating. Interment will follow at the Maplewood Cemetery, where full military honors are being accorded by the Preston County Honor Guard and the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
