In honor of back-to-school season, The Mon Valley Railroad Historical Society Inc. in the Mountaineer Mall, 5000 Green Bag Road, Morgantown, will open its doors for a model railroad extravaganza this weekend.
The open house will run from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. today and 1-4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free, but donations are accepted.
See all the work the group has accomplished on its new HO scale and O gauge model railroads.
Members are also working on an N scale model railroad for visitors’ viewing pleasure. All layouts will represent West Virginia and the railroads that served our region.
There will be five white elephant tables with all kinds of used Lionel and HO train items for sale.
Free magazines, railroad postcards, tourist railroad and hobby shop information along with railroad historical displays will also be available.
There will be “fun packs” for the children, filled with railroad, model railroad information and coloring sheets.
