Vincent LaFata

Vincent Michael LaFata, age 60, of Star City, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2023, at his home. Vincent was born Dec. 28, 1962, in Reading, Pa., a son of the late Vincent R. LaFata and Rosemarie (Stevenson) LaFata. Vincent was the husband to Helene (Hebert) LaFata and celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary on Aug. 8.

Vincent graduated with a BS in business administration from West Virginia University. He and his wife owned and operated a water-damage restoration company. Together, Vincent and Helene hosted over 80 international guests while raising their four beautiful children.

To know Vincent LaFata was to know a sweet, honorable man of God. Vincent was a faithful husband, benevolent father, supportive friend, encouraging mentor, and captivating preacher of the gospel. He lived his life boldly and passionately by spreading unconditional love, bouts of laughter, and sparks of inspiration to everyone he encountered.

Vincent and his family’s philosophy was guided by three priorities. First: to know and walk with God in a spirit of unity. Second: to build relationships and to serve one another as we would like to be served. Third: to serve the community with a meaningful occupation that enables us to do the above with a pure conscience. His family goal was to build lifelong relationships as he shared his heart and ideas in a family atmosphere. Vincent embodied and carried out this philosophy to the fullest. For those who had the honor to know Vincent, he leaves behind seeds of greatness in their hearts.

Vincent is survived by his son, Nathan; daughter, Gabrielle; son, Vincent Leo; and daughter, Rebekah. Vincent is also survived by his siblings, Frances Sensenig (Randy) of Lancaster, Pa., Mary Christine Brightbill (Dennis) of Sinking Spring, Pa., Michael LaFata (Lesli) of Wyomissing, Pa., John LaFata, DO (Margaretmary) of Waynesville, N.C., and Joseph LaFata of O’ahu, Hawaii; and many much loved aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

A viewing will be held at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, with funeral service to follow with Dan Seward officiating.
