Heat, humidity and the possibility of strong thunderstorms.
That’s what residents across Monongalia County and north-central West Virginia can expect today, AccuWeather says, as the high-pressure pattern that had the Midwest under siege of late moves east to the Mid-Atlantic.
Expect a high around 90 today with showers and thunderstorms, senior meteorologist Matt Benz said.
Some of those isolated storms could carry the possibility of flooding downpours and hail, he said.
Heat and humidity will also rule the rest of the week, AccuWeather predicts.
Look for highs of 89 Friday with scattered thunderstorms, AccuWeather said, with more of the same expected for Saturday’s 86-degree day.
More seasonable temperatures are expected into Sunday and next week, the forecaster said.
