Morgantown Utility Board would like to alert the community to a couple upcoming projects in the area.
Between midnight-2 a.m. on Monday, MUB crew members will replace a valve in the Sunnyside area. During this time, water service will be disrupted for most residents and businesses in Sunnyside. This includes the area bounded by the Monongahela River to University Avenue and 8th Street to Campus Drive.
By working overnight, MUB hopes to minimize the inconvenience to our customers. MUB crews will conclude the work as soon as possible. Customers in the Sunnyside area are advised to watch for boil water advisories when water service is restored.
Then, from 5 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday, crews will close the east lane (lane going uphill) of Campus Drive to install new water service lines. While flaggers will be present to allow traffic to travel up Campus Drive from Beechurst Avenue, it is recommended that travelers avoid Campus Drive when possible.
This work will also cause a water service disruption for roughly 100 customers along Beechurst Avenue between Campus Drive and 3rd Street from around 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Customers in the affected area are advised to watch for boil water advisories when water service is restored. This work is part of the West Virginia Department of Highways Beechurst Avenue widening project.
