- Home Free and Morgan White, 6:30 p.m. Aug. 11
The Ruby Summer Concert Series presents Home Free and Morgan White! Country a cappella group, Home Free, has topped country charts and received praise from Rolling Stone and more. Opening the show is Morgan White, an Appalachian-born country singer who has piqued the interest of several music charts. She topped the charts twice with her two hit singles from her first album. Head to Ruby Amphitheatre every Friday for free summer concerts.
- August Arts Walk, 6-9 p.m. Aug. 11
This month’s theme is “Game Time,” to welcome back the WVU students and kick off the start of a new football season. This is the first nighttime Arts Walk of the season but will have all the same features as the other walks. Head to High Street to see your favorite local artisans and discover some new ones. Make sure you stop by the local restaurants and food trucks to fill up on all the fan favorites.
- West Virginia Botanic Garden’s Annual Garden Party, 4-7:30 p.m. Aug. 13
The West Virginia Botanic Garden hosts its Annual Garden Party Fundraiser at the Terrace at Tibbs Run this year. The theme for this year’s gala is Circles, Spots, and Polka Dots. This fundraiser will be filled with whimsy art, delicious food, drinks, live music and live and silent auctions to raise funds, of course.
- WV Tattoo Expo, noon-10 p.m. Aug. 18-19 and noon-7 p.m. Aug. 20
The Ninth Annual West Virginia Tattoo Expo is almost here. There will be more than 200 piercing and tattoo artists on site as well as numerous vendors. Take part in the action by participating in a variety of contests including a Miss Tattooed West Virginia pageant. This is West Virginia’s premier tattoo expo, and you won’t want to miss it!
