Monongalia County Fair kicks off with parade

The 2023 Monongalia County Fair Parade marched down High Street Monday evening, setting things up for the rest of the week at Mylan Park.

The fair runs through Saturday with carnival rides and food, pageants and livestock shows, 4-H and community exhibits and much more.

The fairgrounds are open from 5-10 p.m. today, with the schedule featuring the Mon County Fair Queen Pageant, the Market Chicken Turkey, Rooster and Poultry Show and Mason Dixon Boys wood-carving demonstrations.

The all-inclusive $10 entry fee ($15 on Saturday), covers parking, access to carnival rides, all exhibits, live entertainment and motorsport events (pit passes not included). Fair entry is cash only.

Fairgrounds open from 5-10 p.m. the rest of the week, except Saturday when they open from noon-11 p.m.
