Terry Lee (Michael) Lash, 81, of Dilliner, Pa., passed away on July 25, 2023.
Born in Morgantown, on Aug. 20, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Sarah L. (Swindler) Michael and Vaughn J. Michael Sr.
Also deceased is a son, Clyde Martin Townsend, and brother, Vaughn Michael Jr.
Terry’s life revolved around her passion for art and service. A 1959 graduate from Morgantown High School, she pursued art at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C., from 1960-61, and at the Sierra Madre School of Art in California from 1973–77. Her career included contributions to the Azusa, Calif., Police Department, the Sacramento, Calif., Sheriff’s Department, Santa Fe Railroad and the WVU Financial Aid Office.
Terry was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, always seeing the best in everyone she met. She actively participated in the Morgantown Art Association, and her artistic journey continued until her recent illness.
Surviving are her husband, Charles Henry “Chuck” Lash; three sisters, Suzie Davis, Linda Fletcher (Paul), Tommy McClintic (Wayne); three sons, John R. Townsend, Grant M. Townsend (Michelle) and William L. Townsend (Dawn); step-children, Vicki Miller (Rodney), Butch Elli (Jan), Cassy Lash (Gary), Dee Dee Lash (Suzanne), Charlotte Lash, (Terry) and Chuckie Lash; grandchildren Wade and Michael Townsend, Amanda Lozier, Robert Townsend and Tiffany Townsend; and one great-grandson, Cooper Lott. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are in the care of the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion. A future memorial service will be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations to the Morgantown Art Association, 5000 Green Bag Road, Morgantown, WV 26501.
