Mon Health System welcomed five high school interns from throughout West Virginia to participate in its internship program through the end of July.
The program will provide hands-on experience in healthcare through demonstrations, observation and activities.
The students, who all have an interest in healthcare, will have the opportunity to work on two capstone projects during their internship. Their experiences will not only enhance their knowledge and skills, but also allow them to make meaningful contributions to the healthcare field.

We believe in investing in the future of healthcare in West Virginia, and this program allows us to provide hands-on experience to aspiring students,” said David Goldberg, president and CEO of Mon Health System and executive vice president of Vandalia Health.
Throughout the program, the interns will have the chance to immerse themselves in various essential units at the facility, including ambulatory clinics, the Family Birth Center, surgical areas, administrative offices, nursing units and more. The comprehensive program will provide them with a well-rounded understanding of the different facets of healthcare and allow them to witness the vital role each department plays to enhance the health of the communities served.
Students participating in the program are Emma Burns of Morgantown High School, Taylor Hart of University High School, Cheyenne Hoover of Preston High School, Michael McCombs of Doddridge County High School and Kailynn Sinnett of Lincoln High School.
