Members of Morgantown High School’s Key Club did their part to pretty up Star City’s Edith Barill Riverfront Park on Tuesday by putting a fresh coat of paint on the picnic tables.
The effort came just in time to welcome folks to the opening of the 2023 farmers market season in Star City.
The market, which runs from 3-6 p.m. Thursdays through September, kicks off this week with nearly three dozen vendors, offering everything from fresh produce to pet products, prepared food, baked goods, flowers, soap, candles and locally raised meats.
Crafters and artisans will sell their handmade wares, and area nonprofit Free Bikes 4 Kidz — whose mission is to provide bicycles to children in need — will set up a booth to let people know about its
services.
