Mary Louise Willard, 92, of Blacksville, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Mon Health Medical Center. She was born March 11, 1931, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Anthony “Tony” Colland and Grace Price Colland Rebold.
Mary and her husband Bob operated the Exxon Station in Blacksville for 32 years. She enjoyed feeding the hummingbirds, singing, decorating for all of the holidays, getting her picture taken with Santa to make Christmas cards, swimming, and the color red. Mary attended the Beulah Baptist Church in young life and Blacksville Methodist in her later years. She was a member of the Blacksville Senior Center.
Mary is survived by her children, Joyce Louise Conn (John), and Robert Carl Willard Jr. (Janice Tedrick); grandchildren, Lloyd Robert Conn (Christina Harper), Rachelle Marie Conn (Mike Mainhart), Brittany Lane Fitzsimmons (Omar Ouriaghli), Bethany Ann Mort (Bruce Mort); great-grandchildren, Ashley Conn (Zachary Gooden), Raven Conn, Jacob Conn, Caleb Conn, Jayden Conn, Elijah Fitzsimmons, Brayden Mort, Landen Workman, and Braylann Mort; great-great-granddaughter, Carmella Louise Gooden; sisters, Rose Boggs (Bud), and Alice Britton (Clyde); and a good friend and roommate, Karen May.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Carl “Bob” Willard, who passed September 8, 1991; brothers, James Colland (Odessa), Archie Collands (Bonnie), and Robert Colland; sisters, Minnie Dudley (Donald), Thelma Board Howell (Wes), Francis Buchanan (James), and Doris Jean Wolford Blihar (Newton).
The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home — Curry Chapel, 100 Grant Street in Fairview, WV, from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 9. The funeral will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 10, with Pastor Rose Saunders officiating. Interment will follow at Olive Cemetery in Pentress. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to your favorite charity.
