Donna P. Ringer, 74, of Morgantown, passed from this life on July 1, 2023, at home surrounded by her family. Donna was born on April 22, 1949, to Zeb and Irene Pritchard of Hixson, Tenn., both of whom predeceased her. Donna was also predeceased by her only brother, Wayne, in 1958.
Donna worked for many years in various retail management positions, but her greatest accomplishment is the vast number of friends she connected with in her lifetime. She never met a stranger and was always offering to help in any way she could. She also became known for baking her mother’s “secret recipes” for pound cakes, banana-nut bread and ‘Angel’ biscuits. Donna is best known for her great personality and her love for others.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Kyle Ringer; daughter, Shawn R. Myer, of Morgantown; and son, Gene Mattingly (wife Missy) of Winchester, Va. She also had a total of five grandchildren, Lauryn and Cathryn of Morgantown, Caleb (wife Sofia) of Chesapeake, Va., Gabrielle and Elijah of Winchester, Va.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Jason Oreskovich, Dr. Adam Kline, and to all of the physicians, nurses and support staff at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital for their kindness, compassion and caring treatment of Donna, not only during her final illness, but at all times in the past. Special appreciation is offered to the physicians, nurses and staff of the orthopedic department and of the Medical Intensive Care Unit. The family would also like to acknowledge the fantastic service provided by Amedisys Hospice Care and each of their staff.
Though incomplete at this time, funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home and will be available at www.fredjenkinsfuneralhome.com upon their completion. Donna will be laid to rest at the Gladesville Cemetery.
