Wanda Yost (nee: Vance), 89, of Aquilla Village, Ohio, peacefully passed away June 14, 2023, at UH Geauga Medical Center.
Born July 9, 1933, to John and Bessie Vance in Pennsylvania, she later settled in West Virginia. On March 28, 1951, she married Burrlie Glenn Yost in Cleveland, Ohio. They moved to Aquilla Village in 1959, where they raised their sons.
For nearly 30 years, Wanda served lunch at Chardon Middle School in Ohio and thoroughly enjoyed the students she met. She loved to travel with her husband, visiting many places throughout the years, especially trips to West Virginia. Wanda was a garden enthusiast, taking great pride in her yard and flower gardens. But her truest joy was the time spent with her family.
Wanda is survived by her son, Richard, of Aquilla Village; grandsons, Scott, Eric and Nathen; nephews, William and Richard Lee Yost and John “Van” Vance Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Robert, and brother, John Vance Sr.
Visitation will be held at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St. (n Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) in Chardon, Ohio, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, June 23. A graveside service will be held at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, 1290 Fairmont Road, Morgantown, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 24.
