On Friday June 2 at 11:15 p.m., Doris Elaine Austin of Kingwood, passed away at Mon Health Medical Center. Doris had been surrounded by friends and family throughout her final days, and her son Nick remained by her side until the end. Doris is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth; daughter, Carrie-Ann; mother and father, Phyllis and Morgan Davis; and brother and sister, Jim Davis and Arlene Woodford. Doris leaves behind so many loved ones in life; son, Nicholas Austin and wife Charity; granddaughter, Alexis and husband Ryan French with a great-granddaughter on the way; son, Andy Austin and wife Rhonda; granddaughter, Riley Dunithan and husband Eric; great-granddaughter Charlie; grandson, Hayden Austin; and wife, Morgan; and great-grandson Nolan; nephews, Clarence and Brian Woodford and families and Les, Chris and Dave Davis and families.
Doris was born in Wellsburg, but spent the vast majority of her life growing up in Morgantown, and living out on the Grafton Road with her husband, Kenneth. Doris was a devout Christian as a Methodist and had a wonderful relationship with God. Doris spent her adult life working at Ramada Inn, Bonanza, Gabriel Brothers, Kinder Haus Day Care, Teletech and finally with Defazio Oil as an accountant. Doris loved to travel, especially with family, visiting Las Vegas, Disneyland and Disney World, Amish Country, regular trips to Pittsburgh and New York City among many, many other trips. Doris leaves behind her kitty cat and Nick’s Great Dane Luna, both of whom she loved so very much.
Doris made clear in life of her wishes in death. Cremation services have been entrusted to Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home. She did not want to have any services or memorials. Doris will have her ashes spread privately by family at a later date.
