Theodore Williams

Theodore N. Williams, age 90, of Wilton, Conn., passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023. He was born in Morgantown, on May 9, 1933, to Nicholas (Nedeff) and Etta (nee Stence) Williams.

In the “hollers” of West Virginia, Ted learned the importance of hard work, determination, and strong community bonds. He put himself through college, and moved to New York to pursue a career in advertising. Ted was an original Madison Avenue Pioneer during the golden age of advertising, and was mentored by David Ogilvy of Ogilvy and Mather. He was a masterful storyteller, and effortlessly weaved together humor and wisdom, often lighting up any room, and leaving everyone in stitches. He was always ready to share a laugh and bring joy to those around him. Ted possessed a rare quality of honesty and sincerity. His integrity and straightforward nature earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew him. He cherished his beloved wife Carole, and was a devoted partner. Their bond spanned many decades and sets the example of a true partnership and unwavering support. Ted was a generous spirit who took a genuine interest in the lives of his family, and often served as a mentor, offering wisdom, patience, and support. His passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memory will shine brightly in all who knew him.

He will be dearly missed by his devoted wife, Carole V.; beloved nephews, Jeffery (Victoria) Williams, Gregory (Dawn) Williams, Boris R. Williams II, Theodore Williams, John Burke, Lisa Dent and Karen Burke. Beloved great, and great great uncle to many.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Boris R. Williams, and sister-in-law, Marjorie Williams.

A graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery, 208-242 Dorsey Ave, Morgantown, WV 26501, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2023.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a memorial donation in Ted’s name to The Hospice of Medina County (https://p2p.onecause.com/hwr/donate) or the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org). Care for Ted was entrusted to Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, in Medina, Ohio.
