At least one person was life-flighted for injuries related to a Memorial Day dirt bike accident in the Maidsville area.
Emergency response crews were called to the scene of the accident off Fort Martin Road at approximately 11:37 a.m Monday morning.
A two-person squad from the Granville Volunteer Fire Department was among the first on the scene, where they learned the patient was located “approximately a mile and a half deep in the woods,” according to GVFD.
After arriving on the scene, Mon EMS and Rescue took over patient care from the two firefighters and a medical evacuation, sometimes called a life flight, was requested from a HealthNet medical helicopter crew.
According to information posted to social media by GVFD, the crews were able to work together to bring the patient out of the woods safely and into the care of the HealthNet crew. All emergency responders had cleared the scene by just after 1 p.m. Monday.
The identity of the crash victim or the extent of their injuries have not been released at this time. Their condition is unknown. It is unclear what caused the crash.
