Webster Garzan Rakosi, age 97, of Maidsville, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023, at WVU Medicine.
Web was born Sept. 1, 1925, in Logan County, a son of the late William “Bill” Rakosi and Sarah Mullen Rakosi.
Web was a maintenance supervisor for Monongalia County, was a member of the Granville United Methodist Church, and was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. Web enjoyed fishing and playing horseshoes but his greatest love was spending time with his family.
Web is survived by three daughters, Janie Gatian of Granville, Janet Loveridge of Deltona, Fla., and Joyce Eddy (Rick) of Deltona; one son, Gregory Allen Rakosi and companion, Sandra Snyder of Maidsville; son-in-law, Jack Copper of Tallahassee, Fla.; sister, Evelyn Kerns; and, grandchildren, Jodi, Buffy, Blaine, Cori, John, Amy, Kelley, Stephanie, Michael, Brandon and Matthew; and several great-grandchildren.
Web was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ellen Moore Rakosi; daughter, Janice Copper; and sons-in-law, Blaine Gatian and Ralph Loveridge; brothers, Otis and Junior Rakosi; and sister, Helen Segatti.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover, from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service with Pastor Jim Weber officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery.
