Elizabeth Ann Stemple, 85, of Bruceton Mills, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 12, 2023, surrounded by family.
The daughter of the late Lester P. and Dorothy Hebb Knotts, she was born on March 12, 1938, in Lantz Ridge, Rowelsburg.
A graduate of Aurora High School, Elizabeth worked as a waitress at Little Sandys Restaurant for many years and at the Tasty Queen in Bruceton Mills. She also served as a Coordinator of Adult Education Classes in Bruceton Mills.
Elizabeth was a homemaker and worked on the family farm with her husband and children. She enjoyed gardening, canning, doing ceramics, crocheting, knitting, and jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of the Bruceton United Methodist Church and a member of the Woodman of the World for over
50 years.
She is survived by her five children; Scott (Geri) Stemple of Smithfield, Pa., and Jeffrey (Beverly) Stemple, Sharon (Dennis) Harsh, Roger (Leah) Stemple and Beth (Jason) Bishop, all of Bruceton Mills. Also surviving are nine grandchildren who were the light of her life; Andrea (Erick) Lemley, Aaron (Kelsey) Stemple, Meredith (Jerrod) Harteis, Cody (Chelsea) Harsh, Daniel (Abigail Shillingburg) Harsh, Lucas (Katelyn) Stemple, Morgan (Brandon) Osborne, Kyler Bishop and Cassie Bishop; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters; Connie (Chuck) Grove and Kathryn Hardesty; three nieces and three nephews; and her fur baby, Tiny.
In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband, Donald Stemple, on December 22, 2020, and a sister, Rosemary Curry.
A celebration of life will be held at the Bruceton Methodist Church in Bruceton Mills at 11 a.m. on June 17.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Amedisys Hospice, 5006 Mid Atlantic Drive, Morgantown, WV 26508. The family wishes to express a big thank you and appreciation to Bruceton Medical Center and Amedisys Hospice for their awesome care and guidance provided to her and the family.
