Sandra Lowther

Sandra Kay Lowther, age 70, of Star City, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023 at WVU Medicine with her loving family by her side. Sandra was born on August 28, 1952 in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Dominick and Lillian Huggins Cost.

Sandra loved to cook, have cookouts with family and friends, go gambling at the Meadows and the Rivers, go camping at Big Bear Lake and shopping.

Sandra is survived by her son, Eric L. Lowther; daughter, Beth Ann Lowther; grandchildren, Zechariah Turner (Paige), Ryan Sawyer, Nicholas Sawyer, and Madison Kay Lowther; great-grandchildren, Zech Turner and Blake Turner; siblings, Peggy Blaney (Carl), Janice Straub, James Cost (Connie), Herman Cost (Angela), Kathy Tracy-Anderson (John), and Donald Cost (Minnie); brother-in-law, Leonard Reaville; sister-in-law, Jean Olivito; along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry L. Lowther; brother, Mark Cost; and sister, Carolyn Reaville; brothers-in-law, Carl Straub and John Olivito; grandparents, Frank and Lula Cost and Stanley and Olive Krenosky and Harry Huggins.

Friends may gather at McCulla Funeral Home from 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday, May 12, and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service with Pastor Jim Weber officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery.
