Tonya Crider

Tonya Lynn “Munchkin” Crider, 26, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023. Tonya was born in Wheeling on July 7, 1996, a daughter of Linda McDowell Crider and the late Charles Crider.

Tonya had many struggles through out her life. She had a heart transplant on August 17, 1999 at the age of 3 and overcame cancer when she was 12. Even though she had learning disabilities and a lot of health issues, she never let it get her down. Tonya graduated from Morgantown High School in 2017.

She was a strong young lady. Her love was unconditional to everyone she touched. As a baby she never cried, she was my miracle child from God. Her dad Charlie always called her Munchkin or Munch. He spoiled her very much. She was daddy’s little girl and protector. Her brother Terry always teased her and tried to scare her. He said she was so easy to scare. Even though she did not grow up with other siblings she loved them and always kept in contact with through visits and social media. Corby, her Fiancé, was always there for her and loved her very much. She never got to meet her biological mother but she did meet her biological father and her uncle John.

Tonya was loved by many people. I will miss my baby girl but will see you again. Love Mommie.
In addition to her mother Linda, Tonya is also survived by Fiancé, Corby Bryant; her brothers, Michael McDowell (Channing), Bruce Whitner II, Terrance “Terry” L. Crider, Charles Lipscomb, and Charles Griffin; her sisters, Christina Liddell Beck, Elizabeth Lipscomb, Debbie Lipscomb and Trisha Tucker; her biological father, Carl A. Quinn; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, grandparents and friends.

Tonya was preceded in death by her father, Charlie E. Crider and her biological mother, Patrisha Dayton Bevers.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Susan Miller, Dr. Sotomayer, all the nurses and caregivers for the love and support given to our “Munchkin.” It meant the world to us.

Friends are invited to gather at McCulla Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. on, Thursday May 11, and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service time. Interment will follow in Beverly Hills Cemetery.
