Tapha Lee (Hartsell) Liston passed away May 3, 2023 with family by her side in the Arthurdale home she loved. She was born May 13, 1953 in Morgantown. Tapha was preceded in death by her parents, Robert L. Hartsell in 1968, and Delores (Wolfe) Hartsell Smith on April 26, 2023.
Following her 1971 graduation from Valley High School in Masontown, WV, Tapha completed certifications in Medical and Surgical technology from the WV Career College and MTEC. She was a lifelong learner, as evident by her giving nightly book reports at the family dinner table. She worked for many years as an oral surgery assistant with Dr. Clifford Linkous and retired from the oral surgery department of WVU School of Dentistry.
Tapha loved trips to the beach and camping. Her natural talent was admired by all for beautiful gardens and luscious indoor plants.
Surviving are daughter Theresa (Liston) Cavender of Kingwood, WV, granddaughter Shelby Lee Cavender, and Denise Kisner who was Tapha’s partner for the last 24 years. She loved her little pup Zoey. Also, two sisters Kerry Grantham and Robbie Jo Martin.
