William Bowlby Strosnider Sr., 77, of Core, passed away at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Mon Health Center, Morgantown. Bill was born Dec. 26, 1945, in Morgantown, a son of the late Donley Ralph “D.R.” Strosnider and Kathleen Long Strosnider.
Bill attended and was a member of The Morgantown Revival Center. He was a Veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force from 1963-1967. Bill retired from Chapman and Chapman as a laborer and was a member of the Laborers Union. On Sept. 21, 1967, he married the love of his life, Sheila Kelly. Bill loved spending time with his family, woodworking, farming and visiting their cabin at Shenandoah River.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Jim and John Earl Strosnider, and a grandson, William Bowlby Strosnider III at age 5. Left to navigate in his absence are his wife, Sheila; two sons, William Strosnider II and his wife Carol and David Strosnider and his wife Michelle, all of North Carolina; one daughter: Lee Ann Strosnider, of Core; five granddaughters: Tiffany, Heather, Dynasty and fiance Gavin, Kelli and Jerri Strosnider, one grandson, Cayden Andrew Strosnider; and one great-grandson, Beau Harr, due in August.
There will be visitation held at the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc. 324 Mount Morris Road P.O. Box 478, Mount Morris, PA 15349 Shane M. Ayers, Director from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., the time of service, on Sunday, April 30, with Pastor Tim Kelly officiating. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
