MORGANTOWN — Trinity Christian senior Kyle Knight signed his letter of intent on Friday afternoon to play soccer at Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa.
Knight played a key role in the TCS soccer program becoming what it is today, with the team achieving double-digit wins the past two seasons.
“My recruiting process started much later than others, but what really drew me to Westminster was the campus,” Knight said. “The coaches and the style of play of the team were also huge reasons why I chose there I think it fits me the best.”
Knight scored over 20 goals this past year for TCS, one that was shortened slightly due to a minor knee injury he suffered during a football game playing quarterback for the Warrior football team that sidelined him for a few weeks.
“It was hard for sure, getting hurt is never fun,” he said of the injury. “I worked with the trainers every day and the recovery process went fast. But I got better and it turned out for the best after that.”
Knight says he will use the memory of being injured and missing playing time as a reminder to cherish every moment going forward.
“I want to take advantage of everything I have going forward, you can never predict when something like that is going to happen so I want to do the best with what I have,” he said.
Kyle will graduate from TCS this May before enrolling in Westminster for the fall semester.
