Maxine Wilhelm, 91, of Kingwood, passed away, Sunday, April 9, 2023, at Stonerise Kingwood. She was born in Kingwood, June 10, 1931, a daughter of the late Foster Floyd and Edna Ruth (Childs) Wilhelm.
Maxine was a member of the Kingwood Free Methodist Church, and previously the Otterbein United Methodist Church. She was a nursery and primary Sunday school teacher for many years. She was retired with 37 years of service, having worked as a secretary at Kingwood Wholesale. She volunteered more than 4000 hours at Preston Memorial Hospital and received an award and congratulatory letter from President Bush.
She is survived by one sister, Christine O. Matthews, of Hazelton, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Wallace Wilhelm, Charles Wilhelm and Foster Wilhelm Jr.; and two sisters, Virginia Wilhelm and Lorraine Lewis.
Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price St., from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at
1 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home at 1 p.m. on Thursday,
April 13, with the Rev. Michael Lantz officiating. Private interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Kingwood.
