Dale Carroll Cress, Sr., 88, of Masontown, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Mon Health Medical Center.
He was born in Masontown on April 24, 1934, a son the late Audis and Gertrude Blanche Johnson Cress.
Dale is survived by seven children, Dale Carroll Cress Jr. and spouse Marilyn, Michael Glenn Cress and spouse Diana, George William Cress and spouse Lois, Judy Marie Cress, James Allen Cress Sr. and spouse Heidi, Charles Roy Cress and Steven Ashley Cress; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister, Jerri Metz and spouse William; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his faithful canine companion, Squirrel.
In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Dianna Lynn Cress; a grandchild, Zeth Cress; and numerous siblings.
Dale was a talented cabinet maker and construction worker, having been the owner of C. and J. Construction. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict.
Friends may join the family to honor Dale’s life and legacy at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints, 10230 Veterans Memorial Highway, Masontown, from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at noon on Tuesday, April 11, officiated by Bishop Donald Poe. Immediately following the funeral service, interment will follow at Wendy Cress Cemetery in Masontown, where full military honors will be accorded at the graveside.
