Robert Lester Shaffer, 60, of Masontown, departed this life on Monday, March 27, 2023, at his home.
Born on June 19, 1962, in Morgantown, he was a son of the late William Eugene and Thelma Irene (Saffle) Shaffer. After graduating from Central Preston High School in 1980, he worked in construction and was a member of the Labor Local Union #379. He was also a member of the “Badd Habitt Band” singing vocals and playing lead guitar. He enjoyed many adventures with the group over the years. Robert also cherished his family and the time he spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his wife, Shirley (Stull) Shaffer; three sons: Robert Shaffer Jr. and wife Denise, of Bruceton Mills, Roy Shaffer and wife Cara, of Arthurdale, and Matthew Shaffer, of Masontown; one brother, Jerry Shaffer, of Kingwood; five grandchildren: Lexie, Abby, Blake, Noah and Parker; great-grandchildren: Sage and River; and his beloved dog, Omar.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Jr., and a sister, Donna.
Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 South Price St., Kingwood, from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, and again from from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday, March 30. Funeral services will be conducted at Kingwood Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 30, with Pastor Rick Spiker officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery (Pell Road).
