Robert Jenkins

Robert Glen Jenkins, 74, of the Valley Point Community, went to glory on the morning of March 25, 2023, following a complicated battle with vascular dementia. His victory was won, by the finished work of the Lord Jesus and his sufficient grace. May God be praised for his goodness.

Robert was born July 29, 1948, the son of Harold Eugene Jenkins Sr. and Betty Livengood Jenkins.

He was known by many names, Bobby Glen, B.G., Pappy and Vila. He grew up in Lenox, where his family owned and operated Jenkins Trucking and Sons Inc., and East View Farms. He dedicated his life to providing for his family. He had a great sense of humor and loved to pick and tease those he loved. When necessary, his discipline was quick and just. Anyone who worked with him had probably witnessed his temper and stubbornness along with his generosity and kind heart.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandra Kay Sypolt Jenkins; his two sons and their wives, Jason Glenn (Melissa) and Jared (Janna); and his beloved grandchildren, Colson Robert, Kelsey Morgan, Callen Thomas and Grace Sophia.

Also surviving is his sister, Loraine Sue Gribble (Kermit); his brothers, Harold Eugene Jenkins Jr. (Joan), and Jack Jenkins (Vickie); his aunts, Jeanie Miller, Judy Bolyard (John), Ella Livengood and Wilda Jenkins; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Wayne Jenkins; and his uncles, Donald “Donnie” Miller, Robert Lee Jenkins, Ralph Glen (Wanda) Livengood and Stanley Livengood.

His family will honor his wishes and hold all public services in the evening, “so no one has to miss work!” His gathering will be held at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home in Morgantown, from 3-6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29 with services to follow. Private interment will be held at the Mount Moriah Cemetery in Valley Point.

Thank you to everyone at Sundale Nursing Home and WVU Hospice for extending compassionate, attentive care to both Bobby Glen and his family. May God richly bless you all for the work you do each and every day.

Bobby Glen’s family would be delighted if you would consider a donation in his memory to the North Preston Food Pantry, P.O. Box 23, Bruceton Mills, WV 26525. On the memo write: In Memory of Bob Jenkins.
