David Francis Ford, 42, dedicated husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away unexpectedly on March 19, 2023.
David was born to Edward and Patricia Ford in Ranson, on Jan. 9, 1981. He graduated from Morgantown High School in 1999 before graduating from Bethany College in 2004. David played basketball and baseball for many years before turning his entire focus to his favorite game of basketball. He played for MHS throughout his high school years and played at Bethany College for two years.
David and his beautiful wife Amanda “Mandy” were married on Aug. 11, 2007. Together they had two amazing sons, Carson and Kohen. Their family could often be found tailgating for WVU games, hosting parties, spending time with friends and family and traveling to basketball games. David was the director of operations for Therapy Services L.L.C. for the past 18 years. Outside of work, he could be found most of the time watching his sons’ playing basketball, as well as coaching many of their teams in the past. David truly lived his life as a family man.
David is survived by his wife, Amanda “Mandy”; sons, Carson and Kohen; parents, Edward and Pat Ford; his sister, Rene (Bill) Brown; and his nephew and nieces, Aidan, Abigail and McKenna Morrissey. He has countless family members, friends and co-workers who will miss his dedication to his family and his work.
Friends and family will be received at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Star City, from 3-8 p.m. on Monday, March 27 and again from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28 with Father John V. DiBacco as celebrant.
In keeping with David’s wishes, cremation will follow the services. He will be entombed at a later date in a private ceremony with family at Peace Gardens located at Saint Mary Roman Catholic Church.
If there was one thing that David really loved, aside from his family, it was basketball. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in David’s name to Blue and Gold Ministries. You can donate online at bluegoldministries.com or checks can be made payable to Blue and Gold and mailed to: Blue and Gold Ministries, 100 Trescott Lane, Morgantown, WV 26505. David would take great joy in being able to spread his love of basketball to other children.
