Michael “Pork Chop” Gene Morrison, 74, of Morgantown, passed at his home on March 6, 2023. Pork Chop was born in Weston on March 21, 1948, to the late Eugene Corder Morrison and Lorraine Jean “Jackie” Williams Morrison-McIntyre, and raised by his Uncle Darroll and Aunt Mary Courtney.
Pork Chop worked as a bulldozer operator in the construction industry for many years. He was proud to serve his country in the United State Marine Corp, in Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion Post 174, and former member of the VFW Post 548. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Luke, riding his Harley in his younger days, collecting coins and flea marketing.
Pork Chop is survived by his daughter and her husband, Jodi Macko (Josh), of Butler, Pa.; stepdaughter, Dena Pride, of Morgantown; grandson, Luke Macko; sisters, Kay Miller (Dave) and Joyce McIntyre (Bob); brothers, Chuck Morrison (Brenda), Eddie Morrison-Sailing (Maryann) and Bill McIntyre (Chris); aunt, Mary Courtney; and Sherran Shaver, the mother of his daughter, Jodi, and grandmother of Luke.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Corder Morrison and Lorraine Jean “Jackie” Williams-Morrison-McIntyre and his uncle, Darroll Courtney.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the caregivers from WV Caring Hospice, Home Instead and the Department of Veterans Affairs for all the care provided to Pork Chop and his family over the last two years and to his special friends, George and Mary Jo Sodomick, for their weekly visits which he so enjoyed.
