Katrina Smith, 68, of Westover, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023, at her home.
She was born in Osage, on Nov. 28, 1954, a daughter of Patricia Thomas (John Thomas Jr.) and the late Lawrence Wells.
Katrina retired from Bell Atlantic/Verizon after 30 years of service. Throughout her life, Katrina devoted herself to church, sports and caring for a host of siblings, family and friends. Katrina has a passion for reading, singing and songwriting.
Katrina leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughters, Sharmille Smith and Shallon Johnson; a grandson, Alexander Johnson; her mother, Patricia Thomas; her brothers, John Thomas III, Jerome Thomas, Julian Thomas Sr. (Elizabeth), Jeffrey Thomas, Jamie Thomas, Joseph Thomas, Jeremy Thomas (Phylisa), Jude Thomas and Chance Neal; her sisters, Nancy Thomas, Joy Thomas, Jessica Houseman (Richard), Justina Thomas, Jewelle Smith (Kevin), Janet Thomas and Anna Polke; and a host of nieces, nephews and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Smith; her fathers, Lawrence Wells and John Thomas Jr.; and a brother, Deionte Thomas.
Katrina’s heart of compassion, genuine care and concern will be missed by all that knew her.
At Katrina’s request, there will be no funeral home visitation. However, friends may join the family to honor her life and legacy at a graveside committal service at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, officiated by Pastors Gregory Cummings and Jeremy Thomas. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to gather at the graveside no later than 10:50 a.m.
