RIDGELEY — In their first season in Class AA, the Trinity Christian boys’ basketball team will be playing in Charleston.
The Warriors (14-11) defeated Frankfort 58-41 in a Region II co-final Tuesday to claim a spot in next week’s state tournament.
Trinity was playing at Frankfort after losing last week’s section 1 final to South Harrison but the Warriors are well-versed at playing away from home.
After being tied 13-13 after the first quarter, the Warriors held a slight, 23-21, lead at halftime.
At the end of the third quarter, TC led 42-32.
The Warriors were able to pull away down the stretch en route to the 58-41 triumph.
Chayce Adams led the Warriors with 27 points, supported by 15 from Carter Hartsock and 10 by Aaron White. Ben Lohmann added four points and Levi Teets rounded out the scoring with two.
Trinity will be the No. 8 seed in the state tournament and will play No. 1 Williamstown (24-0) in the first round.
