Martha Diane Ferris was a skydiver, fly-fisherwoman, bird watcher and loving pet mom. She passed away at home in Romney, on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2023, of complications related to COPD.
Martha was born on May 19, 1949, and grew up in Northern Virginia. She spent her career as a social worker and therapist and was dedicated to helping her clients. She worked for many years for WVU Medicine at Healthy Minds in Morgantown, before retiring in 2019.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Gail and Nathan Ferris, and her brother, Douglas Ferris. She is survived by her nieces, Diana Ferris-Suarez and Carla Ferris; her sisters-in-law, Andrea Ferris and Melanie Nichols; and many dear cousins, great-nieces and -nephews and friends.
Her memorial will be held privately later this spring.
